Central Balkan Mts. (Valchovski 2017).
Together with the new findings, the number of earthworm species of Bulgaria ( Lumbricidae , Criodrilidae ) is raised to 50. This number is low compared to neighbouring countries (comp. Stojanović et al., this volume). It means that the earthworm biodiversity of Bulgaria is still incompletely known, despite the efforts of the recent investigations. Seventeen species taxa (34%) belong to peregrines. Endemic species take part with 13 taxa = 26% (Balkan and Larger endemics 9 taxa = 18%, Bulgarian endemics 4 taxa = 8%).
