Type material.
12 syntypes of Limnaeus prunum in ZMB are kept in two samples: No. 101523 (11 syntypes) and 72998 (a single syntype), leg. Lamare Piquot. The shell height of the largest syntype is 27.4 mm.
Type locality.
India, the Ganges River ( Troschel 1837). The label of the syntypes is "Ganges, Bengalien".
