Type material. CHINA, Yunnan Province: Holotype female from Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Gongshan Dulong Nu Autonomous County, Pradi Town , 27.59°N, 98.78°E, 1400 m, 6 June 2014, X. Cao & Y. Zhong leg. ( CBEE, LJ02686 ).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin adjective grandis , - is, - e, meaning “large”, referring to the large vulva; adjective.

Diagnosis. The female of P. grandis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to that of P. rufosulphurea Jäger, 2001 (Jäger 2001) by the anterior margins of LL bowl-shaped, and almost parallel to posterior margins. It can be diagnosed by S oval-shaped (S much longer in P. rufosulphurea ).

FEMALE (LJ02686): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 10.3, DS length 5.0, width 4.7, OS length 5.3, width 3.2. Eyes: AME 0.15, ALE 0.23, PME 0.18, PLE 0.21,AME–AME 0.18,AME–ALE0.09,PME– PME 0.23, PME–PLE 0.32, AME–PME 0.29, ALE–PLE 0.26, CH AME 0.35, CH ALE 0.28. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–III 101, IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 8.9 (2.8, 1.1, 1.7, –, 3.3); I 25.3 (7.3, 2.4, 7.1, 6.5, 2.0); II 29.4 (8.2, 2.8, 8.4, 7.4, 2.6); III 22.3 (6.8, 2.2, 6.3, 5.3, 1.7); IV 26.0 (8.0, 1.9, 6.7, 7.1, 2.3). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 28 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 117A–C ): As in diagnosis. EF wider than long, AB distinct, but narrow and short. LL touching each along the median line. FW laterally folded in dorsal view, covering most of the IDS. FD long, narrow.

Colouration ( Figs 118A–B ): DS reddish brown with dark marks and lines, margin with thin dashed line and black pattern. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally brown with several dark marks. OS ventrally brown, with a large longitudinal dark region at middle part, laterally spotted.

MALE: Unknown.

Distribution. China (Yunnan Province).
