Type material. CHINA, Guangdong Province: Holotype female from Shaoguan City, Nanling National Nature Reserve , 24.93°N, 113.01°E, 1228 m, 16 July 2008, J. Liu leg. ( CBEE, LJ02606 ) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 4 females, with same data as for holotype ( CBEE, LJ02607 LJ02610 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, the Nanling National Nature Reserve; adjective.

Diagnosis. P. nanlingensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. can be distinguished from all congeners by sclerotised part of IDS bifurcate at the lateral part (best seen in ventral view), and the large parallel club-shaped at median part of IDS.

FEMALE(LJ02606): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 7.1–7.9, DS length 3.5, width 2.9, OS length 3.9, width 2.6. Eyes: AME 0.12, ALE 0.22, PME 0.14, PLE 0.18, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.11, PME–PME 0.22, PME–PLE 0.30, AME–PME 0.27, ALE–PLE 0.24, CH AME 0.37, CH ALE 0.29. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 331; Pa I–III 101, IV 001; Ti I–II 2228, III 2126, IV 2026; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 4.9 (1.4, 0.6, 1.0, –, 1.9); I 11.2 (3.3, 1.4, 3.0, 2.5, 1.0); II 14.6 (3.7, 1.5, 4.6, 3.4, 1.4); III 9.0 (2.8, 1.2, 2.2, 2.0, 0.8); IV 10.6 (3.5, 0.7, 2.4, 2.9, 1.1). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 20 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 179A–C View FIGURE 179 ): As in diagnosis. EF wider than long, with AB indistinct. Anterior margins of LL forming an angle larger than 120° resulting in a broad “V”. FW covering part of the lateral part of the IDS.

Colouration ( Figs 180A–B View FIGURE 180 ): DS yellowish brown, with several black marks. Fovea dark brown, striae marked by lines of dots. OS dorsally silvery grey with brown dots and patterns, with a bright transverse band in the posterior half. OS ventrally grey with few brown patches.

MALE: Unknown.
