Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin adjective strombuliformis , - is, - e, meaning “spiral”, referring to the E with lots of loops; adjective.
Diagnosis. The male of P. strombuliformis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. resembles that of P. maeklongensis Zhao & Li, 2018 ( Jiang et al. 2018) by their extremely elongated and spiral filiform E, but can be distinguished by: 1) Alveolus large, extending into distal cymbial half; 2) Cymbium with distinct proximo-retrolaterad protrusion, best seen in ventral view; 3) E forming 7 loops (alveolus small, not extending in distal half, cymbium without such distinct protrusion, E forming five loops in P. maeklongensis ).
MALE (LJ20210628003): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 7.5, DS length 3.8, width 3.4, OS length 3.7, width 2.0. Eyes: AME 0.17, ALE 0.33, PME 0.23, PLE 0.26, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.09, PME–PME 0.20, PME–PLE 0.33, AME–PME 0.30, ALE–PLE 0.27, CH AME 0.36, CH ALE 0.31. Leg formula: IIIV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 16 denticles.
Palp ( Figs 231A–C View FIGURE 231 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 12:00 o’clock position, short and filiform. E arising from T at 9:00–10:00 o’clock position, basally with stickshaped apophysis. Spermophor running submarginally along retrolateral T, seen prolaterally as much thinner tube with a strong bend proximally. RTA short and broad, arising medially from Ti.
Colouration ( Figs 232A–B View FIGURE 232 ): DS yellowish brown with dark tiny dots and lines. Fovea more distinctly marked than striae. OS dorsally yellow with brown dots at anterior part, with reddish-brown spots and patterns at posterior part. OS ventrally yellow with a regular pattern in the posterior half.
