Material examined. THAILAND, Chiang Mai Province: 1 female, Doi Suthep , 18.80°N, 98.92°E, 1006 m, 21 December 1958, B. Degenbol leg. ( ZMUC, Type material. GoogleMaps CHINA, Hunan Province: Holotype female from Changde City, Shimen County, Main peak of Hupingshan National Nature Reserve , 30.11°N,

110.78°E, 1395 m, 16 June 2017, Y. Zhong & Y. Zhu leg. ( CBEE, LJ05043 ) .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, the Shimen County; adjective.

Diagnosis. The female of P. shimenensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. resembles that of P. curva spec. nov. by the similarly shaped S, but can be recognised by the following characters: 1) Posterior margins of LL more distinctly curved; 2) Lateral margins of LL oblique (posterior margins of LL almost straight and lateral margins of LL longitudinal in P. curva spec. nov.).

FEMALE (LJ05043): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 10.4, DS length 4.7, width 4.2, OS length 5.7, width 3.9. Eyes: AME 0.12, ALE 0.24, PME 0.17, PLE 0.19,AME–AME0.17,AME–ALE0.11, PME– PME 0.22, PME–PLE 0.39, AME–PME 0.36, ALE–PLE 0.33, CH AME 0.40, CH ALE 0.37. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–III 101, IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 6.3 (1.9, 0.6, 1.1, –, 2.7); I 15.9 (4.8, 1.6, 4.3, 3.8, 1.4); II 20.1 (5.5, 2.0, 6.0, 5.0, 1.6); III 13.5 (4.2, 1.4, 3.6, 3.0, 1.3); IV 16.7 (5.2, 1.2, 4.1, 4.7, 1.5). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 22 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 219A–C View FIGURE 219 ): As in diagnosis. EF almost twice as wide as long, with indistinct AB. Anterior margins of LL slightly curved, building a very obtuse angle. S covererd by postero-dorsal part of LL in dorsal view.

Colouration ( Figs 220A–B View FIGURE 220 ): DS yellow with dark spots, margin with thin dashed line and brown patterns. Fovea marked by 2 parallel lines and striae marked by rows of dots. OS dorsally brown, with reddish brown marks, with white guanine crystals in anterior part and transversal white line in posterior part. OS ventrally with reddish brown dots, irregularly arranged, a larger dot in front of spinnerets, and with two areas anterolaterally with white guanine crystals.

MALE: Unknown.
