Type Species. Sarotes promptus O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1885
Diagnosis. Distributed in South, East and Southeast Asia. Small to large Heteropodinae . Male: 1) Conductor membranous (sometimes significantly reduced or absent); 2) Embolus broadened and flattened, at least in its basal part; 3) RTA arising proximally or mesially from Ti. Female: 1) Epigyne with lateral lobes extending distinctly beyond epigastric furrow, and in most species covering median septum; 2) First winding membranous, in most species with bent margins; 3) Internal duct system covered by first winding or first winding and lateral lobes (modified from Jäger 2000 and Jiang et al. 2018).
