Type material. CHINA, Guizhou Province: Holotype female from Tongren City, Taiping Township, Fanjing Mountain , 27.85°N, 108.78°E, 541 m, 25 May 2015 , F. Liu, M. Yan & Z. Li leg. ( CBEE, LJ02367 ). GoogleMaps
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the
Latin adjective curvus, -a, - um, meaning “curved”, referring to the shape of S in ventral view; adjective.
Diagnosis. The female of P. curva Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to that of P. gemina in having the narrow LL in longitudinal axis, but can be distinguished by: 1) Anterior margins of LL almost V-shaped; 2) IDS almost inverted U-shaped in dorsal view (anterior margins of LL straight, IDS with posterior sub-rectangular indentations in dorsal view in P. gemina ).
FEMALE (LJ02367): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 8.2, DS length 3.3, width 3.1, OS length 4.9, width 3.8. Eyes: AME 0.14, ALE 0.29, PME 0.21, PLE 0.24, AME–AME 0.16, AME–ALE 0.10, PME–PME 0.22, PME–PLE 0.35, AME–PME 0.33, ALE–PLE 0.39, CH AME 0.37, CH ALE 0.33. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–III 101, IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 4.9 (1.4, 0.6, 1.0, –, 1.9); I 11.4 (3.2, 1.3, 3.1, 2.8, 1.0); II 13.5 (3.6, 1.5, 3.9, 3.3, 1.2); III 9.4 (2.7, 1.2, 2.4, 2.2, 0.9); IV 10.7 (3.3, 0.7, 2.6, 3.0, 1.1). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 21 denticles.
Epigyne ( Figs 76A–C View FIGURE 76 ): As in diagnosis. EF almost twice as wide as long, with long and anteriorly converging AB. Anterior and posterior margins of LL almost straight in transversal axis. IDS covered by LL.
Colouration ( Figs 77A–B View FIGURE 77 ): DS yellowish brown with dark spots and lines. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally with pairwise dark marks, the most posterior pair fused, with a transversal white line in posterior part, ventrally with dark dots and larger patch in front of spinnerets.
MALE: Unknown.
