Type material. THAILAND, Chiang Mai Province: Holotype male from Doi Inthanon National Park , sweeping in lower evergreen forest [18.59°N, 98.48°E], 1680 m, 20 August 2006, P. Dankittipakul leg. ( MHNG, THI0004 ) GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 male, with same data as for holotype ( MHNG, THI0005 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin adjective columnaceus, - a, - um, meaning

“columnar”, referring to the shape of the tegular apophysis; adjective.

Diagnosis. The male of P. columnacea Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. can be distinguished from those of other Pseudopoda species by the columnar tegular apophysis in ventral view.

MALE (THI0004): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 8.8–9.4, DS length 4.6, width 4.3, OS length 4.8, width 3.1. Eyes: AME 0.15, ALE 0.27, PME 0.18, PLE 0.23, AME–AME 0.14, AME–ALE 0.09, PME–PME 0.20, PME–PLE 0.37, AME–PME 0.30, ALE–PLE 0.26, CH AME 0.38, CH ALE 0.30. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2111; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 331; Pa I–III 101, IV 000; Ti I–II 2226, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 5.7 (1.6, 0.7, 1.3, –, 2.1); I 22.9 (6.8, 2.0, 6.5, 6.1, 1.5); II 27.9 (7.8, 2.4, 8.7, 6.9, 2.1); III 18.5 (5.7, 1.8, 5.2, 4.6, 1.2); IV 22.0 (7.0, 1.2, 5.6, 6.4, 1.8). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 22 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 60A–C View FIGURE 60 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 12:30 o’clock position, pointing to prolateral view at its apical part. E short, arising from 9:00–10:00 o’clock position, with blunt tip. Spermophor almost U-shaped, occupying most part of T. RTA massive, arising basally to medially from Ti, with a large dorsal branch. dRTA with two apices.

Colouration ( Figs 61A–B View FIGURE 61 ): DS light yellow with several small dark spots, especially along striae. Fovea indistinctly marked. OS dorsally faint yellowish-white with reddish-brown dots. OS ventrally cream white with several silvery dots.

FEMALE: Unknown.

Distribution. Thailand (Chiang Mai Province).
