Type material. THAILAND, Phitsanulok Province: Holotype male from Nakhon Thai District, Phu Hin Rongkla National Park [16.99°N, 101.01°E], 1290 m, 23 December 2013, P. Schwendinger leg. Etymology. The specific name is derived from the

Latin adjective complanatus, - a, - um, meaning “flattened”, referring to the flat terminal part of the E; adjective.

Diagnosis. The male of P. complanata Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to that of P. chauki Jäger, 2001 (Jäger 2001) by having: 1) E long, slightly S-shaped; 2) dRTA long, finger-shaped, but can be distinguished by: 1) Cymbium narrow and long; 2) E widened apically; 3) Proximal T narrow, i.e. half of T width (Cymbium broad, E tapering apically, proximal T broad in P. chauki ). Females of P. complanata Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to those of P. sinapophysis Jäger & Vedel, 2007 ( Jäger & Vedel 2007) by having a similar epigynal arrangement and almost oval IDS, but can be distinguished by: 1) LL touching each other at the middle line for half of the epigyne length; 2) LL and large parts of IDS extending posteriorly distinctly beyond the epigastric furrow (LL touching each other only slightly in one point, LL extending only barely beyond epigastric furrow in P. sinapophysis ).

MALE (THI0034): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 7.3–8.0, DS length 3.7, width 3.6, OS length 4.0, width 2.6. Eyes: AME 0.15, ALE 0.24, PME 0.19, PLE 0.21, AME–AME 0.15, AME–ALE 0.11, PME– PME 0.19, PME–PLE 0.32, AME–PME 0.29, ALE–PLE 0.24, CH AME 0.38, CH ALE 0.29. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2101; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 331; Pa I–III 101, IV 000; Ti I–II 2226, III 2026, IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3024, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 4.9 (1.4, 0.7, 1.1, –, 1.7); I 15.7 (4.7, 1.5, 4.5, 3.9, 1.1); II 19.6 (5.3, 1.8, 5.9, 4.9, 1.7); III 13.4 (4.1, 1.3, 3.9, 3.4, 0.7); IV 16.5 (5.0, 1.0, 4.3, 4.7, 1.5). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 21 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 62A–C View FIGURE 62 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 11:30 o’clock position, basally wrinkled. E arising from T at 8:00 o’clock position, undulating and with various widths. Tip of E flat and straight. Spermophor almost U-shaped, thinner when it reaches the E. RTA arising medially from Ti. Tip of dRTA tapering.

Colouration ( Figs 64A–B View FIGURE 64 ): DS reddish brown with dark spots, margin with thin dashed line and brown pattern. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally with red marks, with a bright transverse band in the posterior half. OS ventrally with one pair of brown spots and a triangular patch in front of spinnerets.

FEMALE (THI0035): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 8.2–9.5, DS length 3.8, width 3.5, OS length 4.9, width 3.3. Eyes: AME 0.16, ALE 0.26, PME 0.19, PLE 0.22, AME–AME 0.19, AME–ALE 0.12, PME– PME 0.23, PME–PLE 0.39, AME–PME 0.31, ALE–PLE 0.27, CH AME 0.41, CH ALE 0.34. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III–IV 322; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 5.7 (1.6, 0.8, 1.2, –, 2.1); I 13.0 (3.7, 1.7, 3.4, 3.1, 1.1); II 15.7 (4.1, 1.9, 4.8, 3.6, 1.3); III 10.9 (3.2, 1.2, 2.9, 2.6, 1.0); IV 12.4 (3.9, 0.7, 3.2, 3.4, 1.2). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 19 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 63A–C View FIGURE 63 ): As in diagnosis. EF roughly as long as wide, without long AB. Anterior margins of LL forming a ‘V’. Posterior part of IDS hidden in LL in dorsal view. FW covering partly IDS.

Colouration ( Figs 64C–D View FIGURE 64 ): As in male, but generally darker.

Distribution. Thailand (Phitsanulok Province).

Description. For details see Jäger et al. (2006).

Variation. Males:Tip of dRTA and tooth between RTA and tibia slightly longer than those in holotype. Females: Angle between anterior margins of LL larger than 90° (90° in paratype). Spherical lateral loops relatively bigger than that in paratype, i.e. diameter of loop fitting 3 times in FW (only two times in paratype).

Distribution. China (Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces; new record), Laos (Luang Nam Tha Province) and Thailand (Chiang Mai Province; new record).
