Remarks.

Smith (1889) reported on shells from Dominica and St. Lucia; those from the latter island were marked with an asterisk. He did not mention details on the locality for this taxon, nor on the number of specimens examined. Therefore, the reference of Breure (1975) to "holotype: BMNH" has to be interpreted as a lectotype designation under Art. 74.6 ICZN. The periostracum behind the lip of the type specimen has begun to peel off. The current systematic position takes into account the results of Breure and Romero (2012); this taxon is now placed in the genus Protoglyptus Pilsbry, 1897.

Current systematic position.

Bulimulidae , Protoglyptus sanctaeluciae (E.A. Smith, 1889) (comb. n.).
