11. Gabrius nasiformis View in CoL sp. n.

Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Sichuan: ɗ, Emeishan, 28.VIII.2005, leg. Zhang Yejun (IZ-CAS).
Description. Head and pronotum black, shining. Elytra dark brown. Abdomen black with blue reflex. Antennae entirely reddish-brown. Mandibles, maxillary and labial palpi and legs reddish-brown.
Body 5.96 mm long (HPL = 2.04 mm). Head of rounded quadrangular shape, 0.82 mm long, 0.74 mm wide (HW:HL = 0.90). Tempora 0.49 mm long, almost evenly rounded, sparsely and coarsely punctate; eyes small, 0.25 mm long, half as long as tempora. Dorsal surface of head with scattered, large setiferous punctures along lateral sides, vertex largely impunctate; entire head with distinct and profound microsculpture of transverse waves. Antennae moderately long, 1st segment long, slightly thickened towards apex, 3rd segment distinctly longer than 2nd, 4th–6th segments distinctly longer than wide, 7th segment almost as long as wide, 8th– 10th segments slightly transverse, last segment distinctly longer than wide, obliquely truncated.
Pronotum almost parallel-sided, 1.06 mm long, 0.82 mm wide, slightly wider than head (PW:HW = 1.10); left dorsal row with six punctures, right dorsal row with eight punctures, sublateral rows each with two punctures; entire surface with microsculpture similar to that on head.
Elytra 1.22 mm long, 1.39 mm wide, along sides 1.15 times as long as pronotum, densely and finely punctate, punctures separated by 1–2 times their diameter. Scutellum large, triangular, densely and finely punctate and pubescent.
Abdomen slightly narrowed posteriad, widest 1.31 mm, uniformly and densely punctate, punctures separated by 1–2 times their diameter; surface between punctures with exceedingly fine and dense microsculpture of transverse striae; tergites III–V with two basal lines, elevated area between basal lines with irregular a row of sparse punctures.
Male. Sternite VIII with wide, shallow medio-apical emargination ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 I). Genital segment with styli of tergite IX simple, moderately setose apically. Sternite IX with membranous middle portion, basal portion narrow and long, almost symmetrical, apical portion split apically into two pubescent lobes bearing apical setae ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 J). Tergite X simple, triangular, with widely emarginate at apex ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 K).
Aedeagus large; apical portion of median lobe asymmetrical, distinctly bent to right, with unconspicuous latero-subapical extension and narrowed into finger-like apex ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 K, M); in lateral view, apical portion gradually dilated, slightly bent dorsad, almost subrounded at apex ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 L, N); paramere short, divided into two wide branches, face adjacent to median lobe with sensory peg setae closely arranged along subapical margin of each branch ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 O).
Female. Unknown.
Remarks. Gabrius nasiformis sp. n. also belongs to G. deceptor group. It is very similar to G. leigongshanus sp. n.. It differs from G. leigongshanus sp. n. by the lighter antennae and the differently shaped apical portion of the median lobe of the aedeagus.
Distribution. The species is at present known only from China (Sichuan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is a combination of the Latin words nasus- (nose) and forma- (shape), and refers to the shape of median lobe of aedeagus (like the nose of elephant).
