"Long. 17, diam. 19 mill."; figured specimen herein H 8.64, D 6.87 W 4.9.
Type material.
NHMUK 20100523, two possible syntypes, C. Darwin leg. (Cuming coll.).
Remarks.
The two juvenile specimens were labelled "ustulatus Sow." by E.A. Smith as coming from the Cuming museum, and were probably collected by Darwin during his visit to the archipelago with the ‘Beagle’. They are considered as possible syntypes. The current systematic position follows Richardson (1995: 217).
