Key to amber genera of the subfamily Erotinae

The five currently known Erotinae amber genera may be distinguished by the following key.

1. Pronotum with rhomboidal median areole (as in Figs 2G–J View FIGURE 2 )...................................... ( Dictyopterini ) 2

- Pronotum with cross-like structure of pronotal carinae ( Figs 1E, F, K View FIGURE 1 )................................... ( Erotini ) 3

2. External elytral interstice with three rows of cells (Baltic amber)...................................... Kolibaceum

- External elytral interstice (lateriad of humeral costa) with two rows of cells (Baltic and Rovno amber)....... Helcophorus

3. Elytral costa 3 robust in entire length; last elytral interstice wide, with irregular rows of cells ( Figs 1A–F View FIGURE 1 ) (Rovno amber)..................................................................................... Damzenium gen. nov.

- Elytral costa 3 weak, costa 4 robust in proximal half; last elytral interstice (lateriad of humeral costa) with one or two rows of cells (as in Fig. 2K View FIGURE 2 )................................................................................... 4

4. Median pronotal crest incomplete, obsolete in posterior half; lateral pronotal carinae do not reach median ridge (Baltic amber)..................................................................................... Pseudaplatopterus

- Median pronotal crest complete; lateral pronotal carinae reach the median crest, supplied with short anterolateral carinae ( Fig. 2K View FIGURE 2 ) (Baltic amber)......................................................................... Protolopheros
