aceris Goeze, 1778: 345 View in CoL , Coccus

Goeze referred to Geoffroy (1762, Tom I, p. 509, no.18) and added the word ovatus, hence he actually described the species. We regard Goeze's name therefore as valid. Current status: this species is a junior primary homonym and synonym of Coccus aceris Modeer, 1778 , syn. n., now known as the whitefly Aleurochiton aceris (Modeer) (see under Coccus aceris Modeer ).
