Turton gave a description thus validating the name as Coccus arbuti Turton which is a primary homonym of Coccus arbuti Fabricius and a junior synonym of Coccus uvaeursi Linnaeus syn. n. Current status: Eriococcus uvaeursi (Linnaeus) (Family Eriococcidae ).
