Jakubski (1965: 118) listed this citation by Olivier as a junior synonym of Sphaeraspis capensis Giard, 1897 . Current status: the text of Olivier (1791) clearly refers to Linnaeus (1763), which is the original description of Conchaspis capensis (L.).
