Fernald (1903: 194) assigned this species to Eulecanium . Lindinger (1934: 63) listed it as Palaeolecanium piri [sic] (Schrank), while Kawecki (1958: 41) treated this name as a junior synonym of Lecanium fasciatum Walker, 1852 [= Eulecanium tiliae (L.)]. Current status: Eulecanium tiliae (L.).
