scientific name

Coccus ulmi
status

ulmi Bory de Saint-Vincent, 1798: 77 , Coccus (Draparnaldi)

This name is a primary junior homonym of Coccus ulmi Linnaeus, 1758 , and Coccus ulmi Modeer, 1778 . Current status: The genus Draparnaldi has never been recognised in scale insect literature. The species is regarded here as unrecognisable although Bory de Saint-Vincent described the species as resembling Coccus persicae = Parthenolecanium persicae (Fabricius) . Fernald (1903: 326) wrongly changed the rank of Draparnaldi to specific level as Coccus draparnaldi .
