Borkenthelea :

- Borkent (in Spinelli & Grogan 2001) indicated that the fusion of male antennal flagellomeres 3–10 was unique to Borkenthelea and therefore evidence of monophyly of the genus. This may be true but the amount of fusion in various lineages makes it at best a weak indicator of relationship (see character 16).
