- Female abdomen with extremely elongate tergite 7, unique within the family. The relative lengths of tergites 6–8 are discussed under character 134. Within this group, sternite 7 is particularly elongate in Clastrieromyia , with a ratio of the lengths (as measured medially, not including the apodemes) of tergites 7/6 = 1.1–1.2, compared to other Palpomyiini with a ratio of about 0.9–1.0.
