Type Locality: Dem. Rep. Congo, Medje.

Vernacular Names: Ludia's Shrew.

Distribution: Medje and Tandala (N Dem. Rep. Congo); Dzanga-Sangha FR ( Central African Republic).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Included in dolichura by Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977), but regarded as a full species by Hutterer and Dippenaar (1987). Ray and Hutterer (1996) identifed this species in carnivore scats from Central African Republic.
