Habitat. AS IN H. chetifer AND H. longiventris , PART OF A SPECIALIZED HYGROPETRIC FAUNA. THIS SPECIES IS ALWAYS FOUND NEAR RUNNING WATER, VERY OFTEN ON VERTICAL SURFACES, RANGING FROM SEEPAGES (EVEN FONTAINS IN CITIES) TO THE bANKS OF RAPIDS AND ALONG FAST–FLOWING RIVERS (e.g., ON bRIDGE PILLARS) (POLLET 2000). THIS IS CONFIRMED IN OUR SURVEYS, WHERE L. virens SEEMS TO PREFER RIVERS OVER SPRINGS, AND RIVERbEDS OVER RIVERbANKS (SEE TAbLE 3).
