Type:— PERU. San Martín: Rioja, Distr. Pardo Miguel, Venceremos , 1826 m, 25 September 2021, J . D. Edquén 5221, (digital images, AMO!) — Pasco: Oxapampa: Distr. Huancabamba, parte alta de Santa Marta, 3489 m, 17 July 2021 J . D. Edquén 2089, (digital images, AMO!)

Distribution:— Peru, in the department of San Martín and Pasco. The species has two separate records, San Martín (northern Peru) and Pasco (central Peru), both of which are found within the eastern Andes in wet montane forests.

Notes:— Epidendrum sp. 2 is an unpublished species, so we provide no further details of the morphological characteristics that distinguish the species other than those given in the taxonomic key.

Conservation Status:— DD. Data deficient.
