Distribution:— Peru and Ecuador. In Peru it is found in the department of Amazonas. The species occurs in northern Peru and southern Ecuador, in the eastern cordillera of the Andes, inhabiting wet montane forests.

Notes:— Epidendrum yasgolgaënse is recognized by the leaves 2.1–4 × 0.3–0.6 cm, spreading with respect to the stem, lanceolate, acute, the sepals 6–7.5 mm long, narrowly obovate, the petals 5–6 × 7–8 mm, linear, and the lip 3.2–5 × 4.5–6 mm, orbicular-reniform with the margin hyaline and erose. Epidendrum ardens has leaves 1.8–3.4 × 0.6–1.2 cm, the sepals 10–11 mm long, partly spreading, and nearly parallel to the column, and the lip 6.5–7 × 9.5–10.2 mm, reniform.

Conservation Status:— DD. Data deficient.
