Description of Brevibacillus nitrificans MMS 20-HD16

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and white-colored after 2 days of incubation on NA at 30℃. Gelatinase is weakly positive and negative reactions are obtained for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
