Diagnosis. Males of this species are defined by the presence of a vesicle on sternum 9 and by tergum 9 being strongly produced posteriorly in lateral view, the latter forming a sclerotized heart–shaped marking in dorsal view. Additionally, the epiproct is triangular in shape and with the apex slightly hooked ventrally in lateral view (Fig. 9 in Kimmins 1947; Fig. 5 View FIGURES 3 – 6 : e – f in Zwick & Sivec 1980).
