COMMON NAME (S): Superb False Tiger. SYNONYM(S): Eusemia incongruens Butler, 1878 ; Xanthospilopteryx smithii Holland, 1897 ; Xanthospilopteryx basalifasciata Bartel, 1903b ; Xanthospilopteryx maculipes Strand, 1911a ; Xanthospilopteryx ugandana Jordan, 1913 ; Xanthopteryx tanganyicana Hampson, 1920b .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia , Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants for the taxon include two Vitaceae species namely, Vitis vinifera L. and Cyphostemma cirrhosum (Thunb.) Desc. ex Wild & R.B.Drumm. as well as, one Rubiaceae species namely, Pentas bussei (K.Krause) Kårehed & B.Bremer.
