COMMON NAME (S): Eggar, Snout moth (although this also refers to the Pyralidae ) or Lappet moth.
SYNONYM(S): Metanastria denticula Bethune-Baker, 1908a .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Type locality is Fort Jameson [now Chipata], N. E. Rhodesia [now N.E. Zambia], in Eastern Province .
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants for the taxon include Pinus patula Schiede ex Schltdl. & Cham. and P. radiata D.Don (Pinaceae) , Eucalyptus grandis W.Hill (Myrtaceae) and Theobroma cacao L. ( Malvaceae ).
