COMMON NAME (S): Eggar, Snout moth (although this also refers to the Pyralidae ) or Lappet moth.
SYNONYM(S): Pachypasa punctulata Aurivillius, 1910b ; Pachypasa cornuta Strand, 1912 ; Pachypasa sericeofasciata orientalis Stoneham, 1942 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Republic of Congo, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include: a yet to be identified Rosaceae species, Pyracantha sp. ; an Anacardiaceae species, Mangifera indica L., and an unidentified Fabaceae species, Vachellia (Acacia) sp.
