TYPE SPECIES. — Ihlengesi saldanhae n. gen., n. sp., by present designation.

ETYMOLOGY. — “ Ihlengesi ” means dolphin (smaller animal from the sea) in the native South African Xhosa language. Gender masculine.

DIAGNOSIS. — Same as for the species.
