Type species: Gryllacris venosa Walker, 1869
Diagnosis. Medium sized species characterized by the strongly shortened costal field of tegmen. The anterior margin of the tegmen is roundly projecting at very base and then constricted with the anterior branch of the subcosta running along the fore margin; the dark veins are strongly contrasting with the whitish subtransparent wing surface. Male abdominal apex with pairs of spines from ninth and from tenth tergite. Ovipositor curved with acute tip.
