Discussion. The great similarity with Larnaca was already recognized by Karny (1937). But due to the absence of wings he hesitated to include it in the genus Larnaca . But the species does not agree with the general habitus in the genus Melaneremus . In the genus Larnaca we can find various states of wing reduction from species in which the wings still cover the abdomen to strongly squamipterous species that show the typical characters of male and female appendages of Larnca. The ovipositor of L. larnacoides and especially of the female subgenital plate, described by Karny (1937) as transverse and truncate, show the typical condition in the genus Larnaca ( Fig. 71Q ). L. larnacoides ( Karny, 1937) was described from a single female from West Java. The type of this species is characterized by the apterous wing condition with tegmen reduced to a small widening at margin of mesonotum; it has the fastigium verticis about twice as wide as scapus. The female found in the Karny collection in NHMW under that name is probably not the type; it does not carry any type label.
