Type species: Gryllacris luctuosa Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1888

Diagnosis. Medium sized species; media anterior of tegmen fused in basal area with radius; ovipositor usually upcurved with tip slightly widened. It differs from Gryllacris by the male ninth abdominal tergite not strongly modified but of normal shape and with rather short projections of various shape.
