Spike dense, many-flowered. Perianth- segments usually purple, obtuse, acute or shortly acuminate. Lateral lobes of labellum not deflexed; middle lobe up to H times as long as the lateral. Spur usually as long as ovary.

Mainly W. & W. C. Europe.
