Type locality: puddle 4 km from Porlamar , south of the road to Punta de Piedras, Margarita Island, NUEVA ESPARTA State, Venezuela (GN 10º54’04” N, 64º05’49” W) GoogleMaps . Type (1♁)—IPP, catalog number not known.
In Venezuela: this corresponds to the type locality ( Margalef 1961) .
Remarks: this species has only been recorded from Venezuela (endemic) ( Margalef 1961). Broodbakker (1984a) suggests that it is a synonym of P. hummelincki .
