Schizonobia sycophanta View in CoL has a restricted distribution in the Palearctic, having previously only been reported from the Netherlands ( Migeon and Dorkeld 2020). In Portugal, it was collected on Echium plantagineum View in CoL growing in vineyards in the Setúbal region ( Santos 2011). Furthermore,

in the INIAV collection there are specimens collected from leaves and trunk of Vitis vinifera View in CoL in different locations of southern Portugal, and from Conyza sumatrensis View in CoL (labelled as C. albida View in CoL ), which are new hosts for this mite ( Table 1).
