Lectotype M: Magé , Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ( NMNH).

Distribution in South America: Argentina, Brazil, Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Ecuador.

Bibliographic sources: Known life stages and taxonomic and geographical references in Pecor et al. (1992). Redescription of the species in Forattini & Sallum (1987a) with full description of adults and immature stages. Ecological studies with records of this species can be found in Forattini et al.
