Figs. 25–27, 100–107
= Macropsis pallidinota Kuoh, 1992 View in CoL syn. nov.
Description. Body from yellowish brown to dark brown (Figs. 25–27). Face yellowish, frons occasionally with large dark spot. Pronotum brown or dark brown. Scutellum yellowish, posterior margin occasionally darker. Forewings translucent, brownish, with two transverse bands formed by numerous small brown speckles, veins darkened in apical part. Legs yellowish with black spots. Female similar to male, but usually somewhat lighter.
Pronotum strongly striated, with a longitudinal carina. Scutellum also with a longitudinal carina and with two heavy notches in posterior part on each side of midline.
2nd sternal apodemes in male more or less triangular, tips sharpened or somewhat expanded (Fig. 101).
Pygofer relatively short, with slightly concave caudal margin. Pygofer processes short, do not reach its dorsal margin, in distal part expanded and shaped as a knife-blade (Fig. 100). Subgenital plates of typical shape (Fig. 100). Aedeagus in side view narrow, slightly tapering distally, gonopore apical, oval (Figs. 102–103). Styles slen- der, slightly tapering towards ends, with round tips (Fig. 104). Connective with a finger-like protrusion in middle, both lateral arms twisted to dorsum (Figs. 105–106).
Female 7th sternite long, with lateral margins nearly parallel to each other, in midline about 4 times as long as 6th one, with one deep notch on posterior margin. Ovipositor projecting beyond pygofer, 2nd valvulae serrated, with 5–7 additional teeth each (Fig. 107).
Body length (including tegmina): 3, 4.0–4.2 mm; Ƥ, 4.7–4.8 mm.
Host. Quercus spp . In the Russian Far East feeds on Q. mongolica Fischer ex Ledebour and Q. dentata Thunb.

Distribution. China: Guizhou, Ningxia, Henan, Guangxi, Taiwan prov. (new records), Russian Far East (Amur Area, Maritime province, Southern Kurile Islands: Kunashir), Japan.
Remarks. This species is similar to M. jozankeana ( Matsumura, 1912) in the well-developed longitudinal carina on pronotum and scutellum and feeding on same plant oak, but can be distinguished from it by the background colouration which pale brown or ochreous in M. matsumurana and bright green with yellow tinge in M. jozankeana ; another distinct different point is that the number of additional teeth on 2nd valvulae in two species, of which are 3–5 in M. jozankeana and 5–7 in M. jozankeana . Interpretation of M. matsumurana is accepted after Tishechkin (1999, 2002b), identification of M. pallidinota is based on original description.
