Figs. 1–3, 37–44
Material examined. Holotype: 3, China, Ningxia province, Liupanshan, Longtan, 2050 m, 28–29.VII.2009, collected by Yang Zaihua; paratypes: 3 3, 1 Ƥ, same data.
Description. Body dark, almost black, with small diffuse yellowish markings (Figs. 1–3). Head and pronotum dark, with yellowish speckles. Black spots almost invisible, only discoidal spots on face and two spots on fore margin of pronotum behind eyes more or less distinguishable. Ocelli yellow, clypellus black, eyes reddish brown. Scutellum dark with yellow speckles, triangular spots in side margins and spot near apex black. Edges of crown, pronotum and scutellum yellowish. Forewings black, membrane semihyaline, only anal half of appendix yellowish. Legs black. Males and females similar in coloration.
Apodemes of 2nd abdominal sternum in male widely separated, triangular, with long narrow tips (Fig. 38).
Pygofer broad, nearly square, caudal margin strongly concave, pygofer processes slender, almost straight, exceeding dorsocaudal margin, more narrow in apical half (Fig. 37). Subgenital plates of typical shape (Fig. 37). Aedeagus comparatively narrow in side view, gradually tapering towards tip in distal half, gonopore large, oval, nearly apical (Figs. 39–40). Styles slender, gradually tapering distally, with rounded tips (Fig. 41). Connective stout, with finger-like protrusion in middle, both lateral arms twisted to dorsum (Figs. 42–43).
7th sternite in female triangular, in midline 1.2 times as long as 6th one, lateral margins slightly arched, posterior margin with a small depression in middle, ovipositor strongly projecting beyond pygofer. 2nd valvulae with 5 additional teeth each, basal tooth on each valvula twice as broad as any other one (Fig. 44).
Body length (including tegmina): 3, 4.0–4.1 mm; Ƥ, 4.1 mm.
Distribution. China (Ningxia prov.).
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to M. orientalis ( Distant, 1916) , but can be distinguished from the latter one by the tapering apical part of the aedeagus, shorter tips of styles and darker coloration.
Etymology. The new species name is derived from the Latin word “ adustus ”, indicating that the body coloration is black.
