Examined material. AMAZONAS. Leticia, Monilla-Amena, Chagra, 60m, Trampa de luz, 10 horas, 12 oct 2002, Suárez et al. / MPUJ _ ENT 0 0 18136 (1f, MPUJ _ ENT).

Comments. First record of this genus for Colombia. This genus has been recorded for Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil and Argentina ( Kirkaldy 1909). The species Peromatus notatus (Burmeister) and P. truncates Distant are recorded from Central America, including Panama ( Froeschner 1999), while P. va l i d us is recorded to northern Brazil. A revision of the New World species of the genus is needed to determine if the studied specimen is an undescribed species or not.
