Type species: Amasha decepta Medler, 1992: 24
Medium-sized planthoppers, overall 10–14 mm. Head narrower than pronotum. Vertex wider than long, with dorsal median carina; frons as long as broad approximately, with short median carina and broad U-shaped carina at dorsal margin, lateral margin ridged ( Figs. 7–9 View FIGURES 7 – 10. A ); antenna with basal segment very short, concealed, second segment shortly cylindrical, only slightly broader distally than at base. Pronotum slightly longer than head, with disc declivous cephalad, flat, without median carina, postocular eminence ridgelike. Tegmen about twice as long as board, costal membrane as wide as costal cell or a little wider; costal margin weakly convex, apical margin more or less truncate, with one subapical line of crossveins, sutural margin truncate ( Figs. 10 View FIGURES 7 – 10. A , 18 View FIGURES 15 – 18 ); three longitudinal veins arising from basal cell (Sc+R, M, Cu), Cu forked, Cu1 merged with vein M2 or not, Y-stem of claval veins very short at apex of clavus. Metatibial lateral spines 2.
Distribution: Burma, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.
Remarks: This genus is very similar to Geisha Kirkaldy in appearance, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the shape of frons, the U-shaped carina and the costal membrane as wide as costal cell or a little wider.
