Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 a (Habitus ♀), Table 1 (coordinates).

Material from páramo . Páramo El Morro: 1 ♀, 10.x.2011, Leg: C. Bota & J. D. Castaño.

Remarks. Normally populations of this species are numerous and conspicuous, the fact that only one female was found in páramo ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 a) suggests that this species is not a common páramo inhabitant, but a passing visitor. Paulson (2009) mentioned that this species was found in some high mountain environments in Central and North America. I. ramburii is assessed on the IUCN red list as a least concern species ( Paulson 2009).

Distribution. Paulson (2009) mentions this species from the United States to Chile, but Garrison (pers. comm.) claims this species does not reach so far south, and most of the records from southern South America are misidentifications of Ischnura fluviatilis Selys, 1876 or of an undescribed species known from Chile and Peru. In Colombia it has been found from sea level to 3,270 m.
