D. murrayi Reitter, 1884: 39 View in CoL ;
Portevin, 1903a: 161 (as “new species”, as “Reitt. in litt.”); Jeannel, 1936: 154 (assignment to group spinipes); Szymczakowski, 1961: 157, 1963: 680; Gnaspini, 1991a: 331, 1999: 377; Salgado, 1992a: 212, 1999: 37; 2005d: 979, 2006: 101, 2010a: 296, 2010b: 163 (assignment to group), 2015b: 28, 2018a: 68. No information about types in original description (Reitter nor Portevin);
? Syntypes in MNHN [in Jeannel 1936, who did not cite sex and number of specimens, but illustrated a male aedeagus from the “type series”].
Type locality: Blumenau, [Santa Catarina State, Brazil].
Distribution: Argentina: Corrientes and Misiones Provinces; Brazil: Alagoas (doubtful record—see Note 2), Bahia ( calcaratus ), Espírito Santo, Goiás (in caves), Mato Grosso do Sul (in caves), Minas Gerais (in caves), Pará, Paraná (in caves and forest), Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo (in caves and forest) States; Paraguay: Cordillera Department. Larvae: Gnaspini, 1993b:552.
Note 1: Salgado (1992a: 212) cited that Szymczakowski, 1961 recorded this species from “ Espírito Santo do Pinhal” [sic], which is a city in São Paulo State, but Szymczakowski recorded the species from “ Espírito Santo ”, which is a State (in Brazil).
Note 2: Salgado (1999: 37) cites a record (as “ D. murrayi murrayi ”) for “ Alagoas (Serra Branca)” and adds “ Alagoas location is new for the state of Serra Branca” [sic]—first, Serra Branca is not a State [in Brazil], but Alagoas is; second, Serra Branca is not a locality in Alagoas, and this name might refer to a stream near Água Branca or a mountain near Palmeira dos Índios, both in Alagoas State, or to Serra Branca, a city in Paraíba State, or something else.
= D. calcaratus Portevin, 1921: 536 View in CoL ; Jeannel, 1936: 154 syn. (not stated as taxonomic change).?
