Salgado, 2011b: 98 (as syn. of N. grossicornis ); Newton, 2017: 22 (resurrected as valid name and reversed synonymy). Holotype male in CJFK [now in SMNS].
Type locality: Mt. Susana, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina.
Distribution: Argentina: Tierra del Fuego Province; Chile ( grossicornis ): Aisén, Cautín, Llanqihue, Magallanes, Osorno, Palena, and Valdivia Provinces.
= N. grossicornis Salgado, 2002b: 510, 2011b: 98 (as valid name); Newton, 2017: 22 syn. (reversed). Holotype male in FMNH. Type locality: Parque National Puyehue, 40º39.73’ S 72º08.10’ W, 460 m, 4.0 km E Anticura, Osorno Province, Chile.
