Holotype male in BMNH.
Type locality: Cerro Zunil [= Volcán Zunil (as in Selander & Vaurie, 1962)] [4000 ft.], Guatemala. Distribution: Guatemala: Quetzaltenango Department: known only from type locality.
Note: This species was misidentified as Cyrtusa blandissima Zimmermann [1869] [= Anogdus obsoletus (Melsheimer) [1844]] in Matthews (1887: 85) ( Peck & Cook, 2019: 81).
