HOLOTYPE,: TURKEY, Erzurum, University Campus (type series lost).

Previous records for Turkey. ERZURUM: U È niversite Kampusu , 20 June 1966, 4, 2; road of Erzincan-Erzurum, 18 July 1967, 2, 3 (Demirsoy, 1974) .

Remarks. This species was described in Squamiana . However, from the description there are no obvious diOEerences to P. (S.) sinuata which was at that time considered to be member of subgenus Platycleis . The description refers only to subgenus Squamiana and P. sinuata is not even mentioned. In our opinion, P. weidneri belongs either to P. sinuata or represents an additional species of the P. sinuata group (as mentioned above). Because there are no specimens available to study, the status of the species remains unclear until new material from the type locality have been obtained.
