scientific name

Saltera sarcocolla (L.) Bullock
status

Penaea fucata Linnaeus  , Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 199. 1771, nom. illeg.

"Habitat in Capitis b. spei. montibus." RCN: 914.

Replaced synonym: Penaea sarcocolla L. (1753)  .

Type not designated.

Original material: as replaced synonym.

Current name: Saltera sarcocolla (L.) Bullock  ( Penaeaceae  ).

Note: A superfluous name for P. sarcocolla L. (1753)  , and hence homotypic with it. Although Dahlgren (in Opera Bot. 18: 6, 28. 1968) indicated material in the Bergius herbarium (SBT) as the type, he designated a different type (which unfortunately appears not to be original material for the name) for P sarcocolla  .
