Diagnosis. Ochraceous. Pronotumm with posterior half pale fuscous. Forewing with 2 subapical cells. Male pygofer without ventral process. Aedeagus with shaft broad at basal 0.4 length and angled and directed dorsally.

Description. Ochraceous. Pronotum pale fuscous in posterior half. Mesoscutellum with fuscous central spot.

Crown and face dorsad of ocelli transversely rugose. Pronotum and mesonotum shagreen. Crown 5.4× as wide between eyes as long medially, more or less of uniform length throughout. Face including eyes about as long as wide. Pronotum 2.3× as long as crown and 2.5× as wide as long medially, posterior margin almost straight, disc shagreened. Exposed mesonotum longer than pronotum but almost as long as combined length of crown and pronotum. Forewing with 2 subapical cells and 4 apical cells; claval veins margined on either side with punctations, basal area of forewing also finely punctate.

Male genitalia. Very similar to that in M. indica with following differences. Pygofer dorsoposterior lobe more rounded. Style apophysis more sharply pointed apically. Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme compressed with dorsal surface with sclerotized lateral margins, aedeagal shaft broad in basal 0.4 then angled directed dorsally and tapered distally.

Female unknown.

Measurements. Male 4.0 mm long, 1.4 mm wide across eyes.

Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Tamil Nadu: S. India: Madras, Kodaikanal, T.V. Campbell ; on reverse of card on which the holotype is mounted with following hand written data, K.K., 4.18, 4000 ft ( BMNH).

Etymology. The species epithet refers to the type locality where the species lives.

Remarks. This species, as mentioned earlier, resembles M. indica but is smaller and more slender. It has only 2 subapical cells in the forewing (3 subapical cells in M. indica ) and also differs in having an aedeagus with angled shaft in basal 0.4 length.
