Amritodus saeedi Ahmed, Naheed & Ahmed 1980: 221 View in CoL , figs 1A–D. Viraktamath 1997: 114–115, figs 7–13, 22–26: Khatri & Webb 2014: 282, figs 3a–e.
Diagnosis. Very similar to A. atkinsoni but can be distinguished by the style apex not curved, dorsal surface with short slender setae. Aedeagus with shaft about as long as preatrium and preatrium almost straight. Female sternite VII 3.3× as wide as long medially, rest of structures as in A. quinquepunctatus ( Fig. 60L View FIGURES 60 ).
Material examined. INDIA: Karnataka: 1♂, 1♀, Jog Falls , 534m, 18.xi.1976, C.A. Viraktamath ( UASB).
Remarks. This species is very similar externally to A. atknisoni and has been adequately described by Ahmed et al. (1980). Viraktamath (1997) recorded it from the West coast of Karnataka and also redescribed and illustrated the male genitalia. Khatri & Webb (2014) reproduced the figures provided by Ahmed et al. (1980) and mentioned that the male genitalia of Indian specimens figured by Viraktamath (1997) do not exactly match the original figures of A. saeedi . However, these differences can be expected in widely distributed species. Probably this species is distributed along the west coast of the Indian subcontinent breeding on mango.
